Biography

I'm Holli,
I have been a freelance photographer for eight years now, living and working out of Cowes on the Isle of Wight. I settled here because it allowed me to be close to the island's beautiful landscape and coastline, which I try to enjoy whenever I have a spare moment.
In my commercial and my personal work, I employ a wide variety of photographic tools and techniques, from large-format film to contemporary digital cameras. I often edit and print my work, either in the darkroom or with computer-based image editing software and professional quality ink-jet printers.
In the summer of 2024, I graduated from Solent University with a First Class BA(Hons) degree in Photography. I was also humbled at the time to receive the Heads of Department Prize, and the Rosie Maguire Memorial Award.
Studying has proved invaluable to my professional practice, encouraging greater professional curiosity, and widening the terms of reference for my creative work. I decided to continue in education and I am now studying towards a Master's Degree in Visual Communication, which I am conducting alongside my photographic practice.
I am lucky enough to have enjoyed a successful and varied earlier career, and I use the experiences gained to add value to current projects and engagements. I consider myself a capable, confident, friendly, and level-headed individual.
